HT To Guido for bringing this to our attention. I have been a little remiss in my following of the Kentishtower of late…
Today’s article in the Kentishtowner, a Q&A with Martin Plaut “BBC Journalist and Author” is one of the most offensive I’ve read in years.
How anyone could be so stupid as to make the following comments (especially with the BBC in the state it’s currently in) is beyond comprehension.
When asked who he *hates*, he replies:
“Tories. As Aneurin Bevan said: ‘No amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party. So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.’ ”
How dare anyone who I am paying for through the licence fee express such a view?
If he did it without the note that he’s a BBC jouro I’d be slightly more forgiving but this article is largely of significant because he’s gone as a ‘BBC Journalist”.
As a Conservative I am appalled but as a fee payer who has just been classed than lower vermin, I’m outraged.
I demand nothing less than his resignation.
This isn’t just poor judgement / moment of madness – it’s a clear that he meant it and doesn’t even fear saying so in public.
He’s not fit to be paid with my money.
A total disgrace to the BBC. I love the BBC. For goodness sakes, pull it together before it’s all over.
