In Memoriam
Michele Cremona
I walked in and went to pay,
you donned the biggest smile;
An expression oft-repeated,
charm and glamour was your style.
You never failed to greet us,
with rapture even when,
fate had treated you unfairly,
as all too often it did then.
I loved our whacky convos,
our musings and our drinks.
Your maternal, honest kindness,
there to help me in a blink.
I’ll remember you so often:
When I top a soft-boiled egg,
and doodle a face on it.
Imagine what you’d’ve said.
